I had never heard of the Feldenkrais Method before exercising with Katka. Even today, I find it difficult to describe it clearly. Nevertheless, I recommend this indescribable experience to everyone, if they manage to get to know their own body to such an extent that they literally feel their body „defragmenting“ and the right side aligning with the left one. My problems with my spine and posture began in childhood. I constantly heard the words, „Stand up straight!“ and „You’re slouching again!“ No matter how much I tried to stand up straight, the pain remained. Over the past few years, I have tried various types of exercise to eliminate my headaches and back pain. Even the first lesson with Katka was a big step forward for me. I had never tried such gentle and deep exercises before. Through small movements, I felt muscles I didn’t even know I had. I have been visiting Katka for several months now, and even though I don’t have as much time for myself as I would like, I can see great improvements. I have had poor posture since childhood, and even though I went to rehabilitation exercises, there was no improvement. It was only when exercising with Katka that I learned to engage the right muscles and become completely aware of how I stand and walk. I now have a straighter posture, and the stiff trapezius muscles that had been bothering me for years have loosened up. I chose Katka based on recommendation and we had trained from January 2015 until I left to go abroad in September 2015. My initial intention was to recover from an injured knee. However, at our first meeting, Katka told me that the knee is only part of the whole system and that I first needed to start with the overall alignment of my body. During 15 years of sedentary work, I had developed several bad habits (slouching, tight tendons, stiff neck…), which I was aware of but did little to change. Katka and I started working on this gradually. I really appreciate Katka’s professionalism, competence, and understanding. Katka regularly prepared for our meetings, kept records of our previous exercises, and customized the exercises based on my requirements. Communication with her is very easy.
