
INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
The Feldenkrais Method is a holistic approach to the human being, a natural process of learning from one’s own body and a „new“ approach to self-awareness. It teaches us to be aware of our body and how we use it. It uses movement and attention to improve a person’s physical and mental abilities. It works on the principle of brain neuroplasticity – the brain’s ability to learn and create new neural connections throughout life. Based on very simple movements, it stimulates the human nervous system to change movement control in a non-violent and non-directive way. It teaches us to move functionally / with as little effort as possible. It is suitable for everyone, regardless of age and psychosomatic condition.
Functional Integration (FI)
This is the name given to the individual form of the Feldenkrais Method. In this method, the instructor communicates with your nervous system through kinesthetic dialogue using gentle touch and movement. Thanks to non-invasive contact, the organization and coordination of the nervous, skeletal, and muscular systems are improved. Individual Feldenkrais Method (FI) lessons are suitable for anyone who wants to move more easily and efficiently, change their movement habits (replace dysfunctional ones with functional ones), improve their posture, flexibility, and strength, reduce stress, utilize their potential to learn, and apply what they learn during the lesson to their lives.

How does the lesson proceed?
An individual lesson begins with a short introductory conversation. The actual work with the client usually takes place lying down on a special couch or on the floor. Less often, it takes place while sitting, kneeling, or standing. The client is dressed in comfortable clothing throughout. At the end of the lesson (usually while standing and walking), the client notices the changes that have taken place in their body. Attention is focused on what is new or functioning differently in their body.
Kindly come to your individual lesson wearing comfortable clothing (ideally loose-fitting) with long sleeves and bring a clean pair of socks. An individual lesson lasts 50 minutes. The first lesson can last up to 70 minutes. After each lesson, I recommend taking a short walk. Therefore, allow yourself extra time. Individual lessons take place in Senec – Sovia 31 (Nová Tehelňa).
